Mike Tyson is one of the greatest boxers to have ever stepped into the ring. The 53-year-old boxer has had some highs and lows in his lifetime. He had enjoyed a highly celebrated career and has also had a fair share of life’s toughest blows. All of these make for a good biography story, and Jamie Foxx is the best man for the job.

After playing “Ray”as Ray Charles and “Ali” as Drew “Bundini” Brown, there is no doubt in his ability to pull off another spectacular performance as the great boxer, Mike Tyson. Foxx, who won the Oscar Award for Best Actor for playing Ray, is now set to fulfill his longtime dream of playing the Tyson role.

“It’s on, as of right now,” Tyson said in an interview. “Jamie Foxx has signed on for it. Filming hasn’t started yet, but it’s going to happen. … A lot of people aren’t going to like the things I’ve done in my life.”

Jamie Foxx has been seen doing some really physical preparation for the big role. He recently released a couple of pictures, showing off his built-up body. He attributed this transformation to hitting the gym and sticking to an exercise routine of 60 pull-ups, 60 dips, and 100 push-ups.

During an Instagram live session, Foxx recounted his first encounter with Tyson;

“I was on stage doing stand-up years ago. I get to my Mike Tyson joke, I was a young dude, like 22. I get to my Mike Tyson joke and nobody claps, nobody laughs because he was in the building”. After Foxx told the joke, he received a standing ovation and became friends with Tyson ever since then.
