Box Office Movies: Who Leads In The Numbers?

Box office numbers and statistics tell us which movies have made the most sales in the United States and also worldwide. It has therefore become one of the official yardsticks for measuring the financial success of any film that is produced. So, let us take a look at some special movies known for their superior numbers. And, we will find out who is the king of them all.

Avatar ($2,810,779,794).

Let’s just cut to the chase. In terms of worldwide sales, James Cameron’s sci-fi fantasy, Avatar, is the undisputed king. Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana played exceptional roles in the film. It was released in 2009.

Avengers: Endgame ($2,797,501,328)

This is the fourth Avengers movie in this famous franchise. The film is also known for one of the largest weekend openings in history, with millions of folks who went to the theaters worldwide when it was released in 2019.

Titanic ($2,471,754,307)

Another James Cameron film, Titanic, comes in at number three. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, and was released in 1997. Not much needs to be said about this movie… we all know this romance is one of Hollywood’s most popular films.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ ($2,068,455,919)

This popular sci-fi fantasy by J.J. Abrams, starring Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, and John Boyega, was released in 2015.

Avengers: Infinity War’ ($2,048,359,754)

Avengers: Infinity War, the third in the Avengers franchise, is also known for bringing in one of the highest-grossing opening weekends domestically when it was released on April 27, 2018.

Jurassic World’ ($1,670,516,444).

This sci-fi horror movie by Colin Trevorrow was released in 2015. The film featured Chris Patt, Ty Simpkins, and Bryce Dallas Howard.

The Lion King’ ($1,657,870,986)

The remake of the popular Disney animated movie that came out decade ago, The Lion King, was released in 2019 as a modern version of the well-loved film.
